Department Plant Support & Development
The PS&D department works intensively on water-based and solvent-based adhesives that are used for various applications in the packaging, as well as the construction industry. We continuously work on improving existing products and provide technical support to our customers. We also work intensively with our production department to implement optimizations and provide product support.
Job description
As a Product Development Engineer you are responsible for our existing water-based adhesives portfolio, where you will attend to customer needs as well as supporting our production units. You are the first point of contact for different departments regarding your portfolio, and you will stay involved in developments. You are the project leader in various projects, initiated for your product range.
This is a very diverse and challenging position combining both small scale development and large scale support, where you get to work with a diverse product portfolio. In this role, you will interact with Sales, Purchasing and several Operational departments. You will report to the PS&D Manager and will be given responsibility and freedom to help us further improve our processes.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- creating conceptual solutions for customer-specific challenges.
- improving our current product range by optimizing recipes and recommending improvements in the overall process.
- keeping up with new developments within the markets and meeting these requirements.
- building relationships with various customers to contribute to the growth of Paramelt within specific markets.
- managing recipes in our automated system and adjusting recipes when needed in specific situations.
- working with our R&D team to align new product developments within our production capabilities.
- investigating alternative, sustainable, new materials.
Your profile
For this exciting position, we are looking for a candidate who is willing to learn about our products and processes and has an interest in further improving our processes.
- You have at least a bachelor degree in Chemistry or Chemical engineering.
- You preferably have 3 years of work experience in a similar field.
- You are able to work independently as well as in a team.
- You have a proactive attitude.
- You are strong in planning and managing projects.
- You are accurate, flexible and reliable.
- You have no difficulty with sudden changes in tasks.
- You have good communication skills in Dutch and English.
- You have an affinity with chemistry on lab scale and industrial scale.
